About Me
I want my students to know that I will do whatever I can to support them, educate them, and guide them towards their dream. I'd want them to know that we are equals, I'm just older. I want them to know that sessions with me are a safe-space, and that I legitimately care for each and every one of them and will put in a surplus amount of work to prepare their lessons so they understand it, while also having fun. Trust and believe me, we will be laughing and having fun while learning. I will get on your level, I will show you patience, grace, and offer guidance through whatever struggle you are having.
Education
Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I attended FAU High School where I began my college career at the age of 13. By 14, I was fully dual-enrolled at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Campus, alongside regular college students. I graduated high school at 17 with 108 credits towards my B.A. in Communication Studies. I yearned for a change, received a full scholarship to USF, attended the university for a semester, decided that it was not the right place for me. I reapplied to FAU, was given a full scholarship once again, and graduated with my Bachelor's in Communication Studies in 2015 at 19. FAU did not accept most of the credits from USF so my intention was to graduate by 18. The director of the Graduate School of Communication and Multimedia Studies took a notice to me, and offered me a full ride and a position as a GTA for the program. That being said, I taught my first college course at the age of 19, and have been teaching multiple courses at FAU since, as a GTA and Professor. I also was very intrigued by math courses, social sciences, business, test prep, and worked very diligently to do things correctly. I graduated with my Master's in Communication Studies in 2017 at the age of 21 with a 3.8 GPA. The youngest graduate in the department's existence, and my Master's Thesis, which is published, was delegated to be in the top one percent in comparison to all previous students. I have been working at colleges, universities, and privately since 19.
Teaching Experience
I have been teaching communication, english, journalism, media, film, intercultural, interpersonal, rhetoric, minority studies, sociology, and organizational communication at FAU, Palm Beach State College, and Broward College since 2015 as a GTA. When I began teaching at the college level, I also began privately tutoring in all subjects other than science, programming, statistics, and foreign language (except Spanish). That being said, I am competent to teach up to Calc 2 at the college level as well as lower math classes. Also, I am capable of teaching many subjects within the social science field, and when you see my transcripts I have the 18 specialized credit hours required to teach these subjects based on College Professing Standards. During Covid, I heavily became involved in home schooling, mind you I specialize in students with learning or emotional difficulties, they both graduate next year from UM on a 50% scholarship. I also specialize in NCAA prep for athletes, college essay writing, college entrance exams, college applications, and more. So I teach one to two classes at FAU every semester, but try to spend more work time tutoring.
Interests
My two favorite things to do when I am not working revolves around music, and cars. I own an automotive event brand named Atlantic Street Movement where we have car shows in unorthodox places and the reason why I love throwing these events is because they bring in all walks of life, from all over the country, and even the world. The best part is that Atlantic Street Movement began as a school club at FAU in 2013. I love to remodel, revamp, work on, and build fancy vehicles its my passion. But its not about the cars for me, its about bringing everyone together and letting them have a good time. We also make content, merchandise, stickers, and we have our own car group that is our extended family ??
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
